Biography

       Rita Duque is a portuguese actress, photographer, director, and screenwriter. She trained as a professional actress at ACE Escola de Artes, later graduating from the Institute of the Arts Barcelona. She has worked with several theater and film directors, in Portugal and abroad, such as Afonso Pimentel, Aiden Condron, António Capelo, Armando Rotondi, Drew Mulligan, Jane Godber and Jonathan Floyd.

       In 2021, her photography project ''My Life with Rose'' won first prize for Best Digital Diaporama at the 41st "Autumn in Voronet" International Film Festival in Romania.

       In the same year, her latest short film ''Rouge'' won Best Short Indie Film at the Europe Film Festival U.K. 2021, also winning Best Foreign Documentary Short at the Hollywood Women's International Film Festival 2021 in Los Angeles, California.

       In 2022, Rita was the ambassador for Portugal and Cinema Trindade in Venice, Italy, in the project 27 Times Cinema, partnership with Lux Audience Awards, EuropaCinemas and Cineuropa. In Venice, she was a jury at the festival Giornate degli Autori, part of La Biennale di Venezia 2022.

       Presently, she works as an actress, collaborates with different artists, and directs her own independent photography and film projects.
